Irvine PD - Full time Crime Analyst

The Crime Analyst is responsible for compiling and reviewing data regarding criminal activity; systematically analyzing data to identify and formulate conclusions about crime trends; assisting in the development of strategies and methods for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities; and preparing and disseminating statistics and reports to facilitate departmental planning for the Irvine Police Department.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in criminology, business or public administration or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a public agency including research, writing, statistical analysis with experience in a police department preferred, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Possession of and ability to maintain crime analysis certification.
