Criminal Research Specialist: $75,296.00 - $91,520.00 annual salary

Senior Criminal Research Specialist: $87,547.20 - $106,412.80 annual salary 

The Anaheim Police Department is looking for a Senior Criminal Research Specialist or Criminal Research Specialist to join our dynamic Crime Analysis Unit. In this critical role, you’ll provide high-level analytical support that directly impacts public safety and investigative success.

Key duties include:

• Analyze and track crime trends to support patrol and investigative operations
• Conduct geographic and temporal analysis to identify emerging patterns and areas of concern
• Create maps, reports, and visualizations to communicate key findings
• Work closely with investigators on active cases—supporting operations with advanced research, link analysis, and cell data analysis
• Collaborate with local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement partners
• Present findings in meetings—and potentially in court
• Take the lead on creating, refining, and evaluating dashboards that measure success and drive decisions using tools like PowerBI, Tableau, and SQL

The role may be embedded within an investigative detail, where advanced investigative research and analysis skills are necessary to support active investigations and operations.
